Battery collection in Austria is carried out in cooperation with the ECOBAT company BMG Metall und Recycling GmbH (BMG). The secondary lead smelter and ECOBAT Logistics Austria are based in Arnoldstein.

Arnoldstein’s non-ferrous metallurgy has a history of over 500 years in the smelting of lead and tin ore. In recent years, considerable investments have been made. Today BMG is a modern secondary lead smelter for the recycling of lead accumulators and lead-containing waste products. Approximately 25,000 tons of lead and lead alloys are produced annually.

BMG is certified as a waste disposal plant.
